Tuesday 1-26-21 was a banner night for this league…..for the first time in league history there were 3 buzzer beaters in one night and the 4th game ended at the buzzer with a missed shot that would have tied the game.  Statement as to how much parity there is in this league….also a statement to the big balls individuals who hit the game winners.   I typically dont like talking about myself in these write ups but this post will be an exception to the rule.  tough to write this while my balls are draped all over McGinnis’s face but ill do my best.

O’Malley 52 Harrigan 50

RE. team Harrigan, this game will go down as one of the worst losses in league history.   a team that has been as high as # 1 in the power rankings losing to a team with 3 of its top 4 picks missing….it started out as a joke talking about how this team was on a slide but this loss has taken them into a massive tail spin.  Trade rumors are swirling and im not gonna name names but lets just say that EVERYONE is on the chopping block for team Harrigan.  This game started out extremely slow but gained steam as soon as McGinnis started chirping at El Comisario.   After a brief moment of chirping back, El Comisario decided to take his actions to the court instead of stooping to the levels of McGinnis.  Team Harrigan led by 8pts with 45 sec left and team blue took over from there….honestly, i cant even remember how it went down, the only thing that i remember is the ball going thru the hoop as the buzzer sounded and then me scraping my sack off of McGinnis’s face.   not sure if that was the actual sequence but since this is on the internet, it is the truth.   Deal with it Matt.

Manzke 54-52

El Comisario Jr had the big balls in this game.   He hasnt done much this year but all is forgiven after his 3 gave team Manzke their 4th win of the year and 3rd in their last 4 weeks.  for as much shit as we have talked about team Manzke, this squad could be dangerous with their scoring ability.   Team DeCarlo just cant put it together for multiple weeks in a row and looks like they may be losing Henry for the year after this week (work, not because his fiance wont let him play (Rob)).  is Jay losing it?  Per El Comisario Jr, he outplayed him in this game.  Deal with it Bird

Green Oaf W vs Maroon Oaf L

biggest upset of the week with team Green taking out team “used to be # 1 in the power rankings”…tough loss for team Maroon but the more i think about it, the more i believe that this team wasn’t ready for the limelight.  I mean, its not like anyone on their team played high level college basketball, appeared in all 31 games, starting eight of them….averaged 6.7 points per game (207 total) which ranked fifth on the team…pulled down 2.9 reboungs per game(90 total) which ranked fifth on the team.  finished with 21 steals which ranked fourth on the team…had 42 assists , the fourth most on the team….averaged 24.8 minutes per game and went 77-189 from the field (.407)…had eight games with 10-plus points, with a season best-16 points scored twice, first at South Dakota and then at Purdue…Pulled down a career high 11 rebound versus Buffalo and had a half court heave with 20 sec left in the game versus team DeCarlo that just missed.  sorry….got a bit off track there.  Team Maroon had a shot to tie it at the buzzer….Hannigan threw up a prayer but clearly doesn’t have the balls to finish a game.  Deal with it Hannigan

Spadoni W vs Mac L

similar to team Manzke, for all the shit we talk about Team Red, this team is trying its hardest to win.  short handed every week, super close games, this squad just cant help but get balls all over their faces every game.   things will change for team Red come 2-16 when Scott Lyons joins their team for good.   I expect team Red to make strides moving forward.    as for this game, Pat Statham’s balls were the biggest of the night.   down 2 with a foul to give, team mac decided NOT TO FOUL and instead give Pat Statham a wide open 3 to win the game.   was it the right strategy?  is mac failing as a captain?  were his bangs blinding him from the task at hand?   another tough loss for team Mac.
