Bye: Team Bernard- no team needs it more
00- Team Healy -18 v. Team Shimko-Less- no Shimkos, no Bendo, no Bedell, no Abe possibly no Andy so it is safe to say that Team Healy will get its first win. Team Healy will only be missing John Healy and with his big brother out of his way clogging up the lane, it is time for little brother to step up and show everyone who the better Healy is. The only thing this game will be good for is breaking a sweat.
00- Team Statham v. Team Mikuzis- 6 (upset special) Team Orange will be missing Cosme. Elder Statham and Mike Greene as things continue to look bleak for the returning Champs but Team Orange will somehow find a way to pull off the upset because that is what Champions do-they dig down when the going gets tough. Young Statham will make his first appearance of the season and his first appearance as a married man. Team Statham, will be missing two of it top offensive players, but Alkovsky should have a big bounce back game with having Kevin as an additional scoring option. Nolan and Shrader will have to control the boards but will also have to chip in on the offensive end- maybe a couple of 3’s from each of them. Team Mikuzis, after a rough start in game 1, looks like they are starting to figure it out and if their top 3 continue to play well together, and they get another MVP performance out of Mr. Barraco, they could fend off the upset. Sexton will be the x-factor for Team Mikuzis. Young Statham will be the x-factor for Team Orange.
00 – Team O’Malley -8 v. Team Spadoni -Team Spadoni will have no answer for McCann and he should be able to score at will and he will shut down either Koll or Harrigan, who will continue to lead his team and the league in shot attempts. Maloney will be making his first appearance which will take Spud off the ball-it will be Maloney’s job to feed all the offensive mouths on the team which will not be easy. Tyler will pose additional match-up problems for Team Spud. O’Malley, will continue to treat every game like a play-off game, and go with a 6 man rotation unless the game gets out of hand and he gets his bench in during garbage time. O’Malley, Glanville, and McCann are as tough as any top 3 on any team and may be the best 1-2-3 combination in the league especially because they each bring something different to the table and complement each very well. If they get Petrak going, they might not lose a game all year. There is no question that Koll and Harrigan can light it up on any given night but they will have to show that they can play on both ends of the floor because with Team Spud’s lack of size, they are either going to have to play great team defense or they are going to have to put up 100 points a game and play defense by out-scoring their opponents.
00- Manzke v. Wagner -8- two teams with two contrasting styles of play should make for a very interesting game. Team Manzke is coming off a tough double overtime game and Team Wagner cruised past Team Bernard without Carroll although that is not saying much considering it was Team Bernard after all but the surprise was Hayes actually playing some defense and shutting down Rovy, a very tough match-up for him. Team Wagner just may have the most potent offense in the league with Carroll, Packy,Wags, Hayes and Dwyer and if they can continue to shoot like they did last week it won’t matter that they are challenged defensively. It will be interesting to see how adding Carroll to the mix will impact things Is ever possible to have too many scores? They also have two very solid big man who do not need the ball to be effective. They also have a solid bench. Wags may have had the best draft of anyone. Team Manzke will get after it on the defensive end and run all day long-if they can get some rebounds they might be able to keep this game close but in addition to Hunt and Goyke, they will need offense from both Manzke and Gierhahn and they will need it by get by going to the to the basket and drawing fouls. Coming off a strong game, Keaty could be the x-factor in tis game. Manzke and Gierhahn can make it tough of Team Wag’s shooters if they settle for jumpers but if they can get the ball down low Carroll, Wags and Hayes could feast all-night long forcing Team Manzke to help out down low opening even more opportunities for their shooters. Baker will be the x-factor for Team Wagner.
