Bye- Team Shimko
6:00- Wagner 87 over Mikuzis 62- The only thing surprising about this game was that Team Wagner(playing without their fearless leader) did not put 100 points. Troy McAllister was the unsung MVP and is the leading candidate for “steal of the draft”. This team continues to be a dark horse to win it all. They have the size, the scoring and the bench to win it all. Them Mikuzis, well they just continue to suck but Tlm Linane had a career night and did provide one bright spot.
7:00-Spadoni 51 over Manzke 51- Manzke continues to repeat the same theme every week-they play good enough defense to be in every game but they just can not generate enough offense to get over the hump. Considering they have Gierhahn, Manzke, Goyke and Hunt, this is surprising but for some reason they can not get all four going at the same time. I still think they will get it going for the season is over and will be a tough out in the play-offs. Meanwhile, Team Mediocre continues to do just enough to win despite having two of the best offensive players in the league.
8:00-Statham 77 0ver Healy 73-this game live up to its billing and was the game of the night despite Team Healy learning that Mariner is done for the year with an Achilles injury. He was replaced by Ron Badon who played in the league for many years and although 20 years older than Mariner he has not lost anything since he “retired” 4 years ago and it looks like Team Healy will remain one of the favorite to win it all. Team Statham, who played with 8 guys for the first time, and is starting to look like the team that won it all last year. Pete Spain is playing like an all-star and Kevin Statham has re-discovered his shooting touch. With Cosme back in the fold, Team Orange moved the ball better than they have all year always passing up a good shot for a better shot. If Team Orange continues to shoot lights out-they will be tough to beat.
P.S. No one is more happier to have Badon back in the league but for reasons totally unrelated to basketball but you need to ask him about it.
9:00-O’Malley over Bernard-in what should have been a walk in the park turned into a very close competitive game despite the fact that Team Bernard was missing Rovy and Smallbone. I will chalk this one up to playing down to your competition but Team O’Malley has been looking a little shaky lately and its road to the Championship might be a little bumpier than everyone thought.
