Bye-Team Spadoni
00- O’Malley -6 v. Statham 9 (upset special)- Team O’Malley needs a win tonight to hold on to the number 1 seed(Healy owns the tiebreaker) while Team Statham has blown their chance at a top 3 seed they still need to get back on track after losing 2 out of the last 3. Cosme me will draw the defensive assignment on McCann but it will take a team effort to contain him. Tam Statham could employ a zone and force Team O’Malley to hit from the outside. However, this could prove to be a very ill-advised strategy if “Glanville”, Petrak and O’Malley van hit their outside shots. There is no real size advantage for either team with both Nolan and Shrader able to match-up well with Tyler. Team Statham will have to show much better ball and tried to exploit some of the mis-matches on offense. The bottom line is that Team Statham will have to knock down some shot s which they have not be able to do for the past 3 weeks despite getting a lot of good looks. Alvosky could be the X factor for Team Statham. De Carlo could be the X factor for Team O’Malley- he simply does all the dirty work that no one else cares to do. Of course that is assuming he even sees the floor as I fully expect Team O’Malley to employ thei “play-off rotation for the next 2 weeks in an effort to lock down the number ! seed. If Conway can bring last week’s Hatchett Ball production to the court he could also be an X factor. Team Statham has to show that that they can execute when the game is on the line.
00- Shimko -10 v. Manzke (upset special #2)- on paper there is no way that Team Manzke should be able to win this game considering their inability to score although they do have more offensive weapons that Team Shimko. Bendo and Shimko will poses match-up problems but expect Team Manzke to get really physical with Shimko and try to take him out of his game. Team Shimko may have found a 3rd scoring option in in Hahn if he continue to look for his shot(3 3s last game) but they will also need offensive contributions from Gainer, Reese, Garmes and Bedell. If Geirhan truly has re-discovered his offense an upset is very possible but Hunt, Goyke and Manzke will have to do their share on the offensive end.
00- Bernard v. Wagner -6- Week 17 and Team Wagner still looking for an identity after a couple of bad losses in the last few weeks and even if they don’t they should roll over Team Bernard who has nothing left to play for except Technical fouls.
00- Team Healy -6 v. Team Mikuzis ( Upset special #3) after finally starting to put something together Team Mikuzis laid an egg last week. If they hope to make some noise in the play-offs they will have to start to show something this week in a very tough match-up. Team Healy will be short-handed and Team Mikuzis has the size to match-up but they have to show that they are capable of getting the ball to the right people- not everyone can be a score-players need to know their role. Team Healy continue to play-well despite be shoert-handed and a well rested and healthy Badon will go along to preventing the upset.
