Bye- Team O’Malley

00- Spadoni 60 over Mikuzis 53- With Harrigan out, Spadoni found himself with a plethora(that’s right) of scoring opportunities and had a career night leading his team to victory despite an horrendous start. Of course, Team Mikuzis’s epic meltdown made the win less impressive and reversed and upward trend for Team Mikuzis and now casts doubt on whether they can even get through the play-in game. Not sure whether Captain Spadoni scored more points(25) or drank more beers but it was pretty darn close.

00-Healy 46 over Wagner 44 (OT), not sure if this was a stallworth defensive effort by Team Healy or a complete incompetent offense performance by Team Wagner but regardless team Healy did what it needed to do to remain in the hunt for the #1 seed despite being woefully short-handed. Coach Healy’s questionable strategy to play zone defense against one of their better offensive teams in the league made him look like a genius and looks like we will see more of this going forward until someone figures it out. The Bash brothers carried the load on offense but the play of the game came from Matt “the Glove” Mustafa chasing down a break away lay-up at the end of regulation to force overtime. Mustaf may be the leading candidate for 6th man of the year.

00-Manzke 47 over Bernard 35- (1st Technical Game)- in a game that meant nothing to Team Bernard they were chippy the entire game as if the reffing was responsible for the 10 point deficit the entire game. They actually could have been called for several more had the refs not exercised restraint. In a great sign for Team Manzke, Geirhahn snapped out of his offensive funk to lead the way. If Team Manzke can get consistent offensive production from Hunt, Goyke, Manzke and Geirhan, they could be a tough out in the play-offs.

00 Shimko 64 over Statham (OT) (2nd technical Game)- in a closely contested well-played game(all but for 2 minutes for Team Orange) that was not decided until the final possession of OT this game also included a Technical that almost cost Team Shimko the game except that team Orange was unable to capitalize. After a back and forth game all night, Team Statham took what at the time an insurmountable lead of 7 with the ball and less that 2 minutes remaining and still found a way to lose. This will be a hard loss for Team Statham to swallow and could lead to a crisis in confidence as they head to the play-offs. Alex put his team on his shoulders at the end of regulation and in OT but Team Shimko received critical contributions from Reese, Hahn(3 for 3 from beyond the arc) and Gainer who had a double -double including several really tough baskets down low.
