please excuse my hiatus from the blog….after our brutal loss to team spadoni my motivation for writing went into a downward spiral. I went straight to the gutter and spent several weeks thinking about what could have been done differently….for real though, i was in Florida for an extremely long time and will be back in action moving forward. And to be clear, i was not in the gutter, team blue actually walked away from the Spadoni loss feeling better. Although they do not stink as badly as i thought, team orange barely beat us with our top 2 players out and one of their bench players (rhymes with Harry Crane) scored 18 points. 2 things that definitely wont happen again the next time we play them.
Spadoni W John Healy L
here we go again with team Spadoni taking advantage of an undermanned team. Team Healy was missing Harrigan (they are by far the worst team in the league without their top pick) and the Alaskan pulled his hammy early in the game. with those 2 guys out this team literally has no chance unless John Healy can score 20+ per game and we all know that is 100% impossible. Team Spadoni has all the confidence in the world but it is completely unfounded. I am predicting a drubbing next week as they run into team Harrigan. that game is the early favorite for the game of the week…on a side note, sounds like Pat Statham is the frontrunner for the “Roz” award. This award is presented to the player who gets the most fouls called for them by Roz. It is also known as the “phantom” award.
Manzke W B Healy L
Team Manzke was won 2 of its last 3 and is gaining confidence….they play team Mac next week so its pretty much a guarantee that they make that 3 of their last 4. Don and B Healy were out for team maroon so they pretty much relied on Hannigan to do everything. It is still early but Hannigan has pretty much cemented rookie of the year…..whats more impressive is that he made it all the way to Washington DC yesterday to storm the Capital. Hannigan can be seen in multiple photos wearing a viking hat with his face painted red, white and blue. Happy to say he wasnt injured in the “protest”. Cosme finally showed up and made a few big shots as did Slager…..turned out to be an easy one for team Manzke which was 100% due to team Healy being short handed. although Manzke will finish the 1st half 3-4, they fucking stink
O’Malley W Mac L
hard to think of adjectives to explain how bad this game was. Team O’Malley was missing its top 2 players and team Mac was missing one of the oafs but had both Sextons and Mac. both teams played Zone for majority of the game and the final was 40-38. lots of turnovers, missed free throws but in the end, the better team prevailed. Team O’Malley had contributions from everyone including Sean Hunt who, for the first time this year hit the scoresheet with 1 assist. Balanced scoring and the stellar zone breaker Billy Nolan won this game for team O’Malley. John Sexton did his best to keep team Mac in this game by apparently paying off the refs before the game but it wasnt enough to beat a shorthanded team O’Malley. Team Mac needs help…….a LOT of help.
