2nd half of the year typically separates the pretenders from the contenders….or in our leagues case, the Spadoni’s and Manzke’s from the B Healys/Harrigans/O’Malleys.  I am stepping out on a limb and predicting that team spadoni will finish the season outside of the top 3 and that slide will start this week as they face off with a hot Team Green….(update, Kevin Harrigan is out tonight so as usual, team orange will take advantage of an undermanned squad)

other predictions for the 2nd half

  1. team Mac will win 2 games in the 2nd half AND 1 playoff game upsetting the top seed in the 1st round of the playoffs (totally kidding)
  2. Gollogly wont get traded but will find his niche on team harrigan as the 3rd guy off the bench providing spurts of boards and 2-3 points per game
  3. team Manzke will finally Gel and finish in the top 4 at the end of the season but lose in the 1st round of playoff
  4. Team Healy will have the ball with 10 sec left in the championship game and Don will heave a 3 quarter court shot thinking that he felt contact with the defender.  Ball goes out of bounds and Team O’Malley gets the ball back…..HUNT wins it with a corner 3 and we never step foot on the crestwood courts again.

6pm John Healy -8 vs Spadoni

Healy coming off of a big win in week 7 vs Spadoni coming off of a big win vs Harrigan.  Too many mismatches in this game for Team Spadoni to have a chance..they will need another big game by Larry BirdSpain to keep pace. (nothing below matters, green loses, Harrigan is out)

Kevin Harrigan vs Pat Statham—-major edge goes to Harrigan.   too quick for pretty much everyone in the league and if he starts hot it could get ugly

Shalvis vs spadoni—-Shalvis is solid on both ends and will be too much for Spadoni to handle

Bendo vs John Healy—Bendo will get his normal double double but John Healy will make it tough on him.  2 early contenders for the Oaf award have a lot on the line….i mean, who doesnt want to be called the “Oaf of the year”

7pm O’Malley even vs Mac

nothing like coming off a tough loss and running into a steaming pile of shit squad like team mac.   that really didn’t read like i wanted it to but i think everyone knows what i am implying.  Team O’Malley may still be shorthanded so it may not be a walk in the park but if Hoops is able to play this one may get ugly.  Team Mac will have a major height advantage with 2 Oafs on their roster but will it be enough? (update, Team O’Malley is missing 3 of their top 4 picks…..if Team Red doesn’t win this game, i don’t even know what to say anymore

Mac vs Zone—-over play the side that Mac is wandering

Oaf’s vs Zone—-box out the oafs

Driscoll vs Zone—let him shoot 20 times, statistics show he will only make about 4

8pm Harrigan vs DeCarlo -4

Harrigan is missing McGinnis (Gollogly is licking his chops with more playing time) and sounds like DeCarlo has all the guys that matter.  DeCarlo has the advantage tonight without anyone to guard Gierhahn….B will try but it wont work out well.  Team Harrigan is on a slide and its most likely due to McGinnis not showing up drunk lately…..think about it Matt.

B vs Henry—-love this matchup, B has the edge offensively but Henry plays tough D.   if B scores over 20 team Harrigan has a shot

Gierhahn vs nobody on this team can guard him

Tyler vs Gollogly/Stahl/Linane—-if this trio can figure out how to sub in and out appropriately it will help team Harrigan. Edge goes to the trio

Koll vs new guy—-New guy Steve Willis looked good in his debut last week…..hustle guy and plays like he cares.   will be a tough matchup against Koll—-fresh legs wins….ive got Willis

9pm Manzke vs Healy -8

crazy to say this but team manzke fucking stinks.   3 really good players (Keaty, McNulty and Rovy)and they just cant put it together.  Slager and Cosme have to find a way to gel and Manzke has to find a way to stop missing wide open layups.  on the other hand, Brian Nichols made a free throw last week so they have that going for them.  Team Healy is just missing Brian Healy which is fine, he doesn’t produce much anyway.  Don and Hannigan are starting to figure it out and seem to be playing well together (sans Dons half court shots) and will coast to an easy victory tonight.

Don vs not really sure—–Cos cant guard Don anymore and slager/Manzke are little tiny guys.  will be intersting to see how Mark plans to match up with Don

Hannigan vs Manzke/Slager—Manzke has a ton of pent up rage towards Hannigan and this is a perfect time to let it out.   Similar games, 2 different body types will collide and i am leaning towards the in shape guy.   Will hannigan be able to keep his mind on Hoops knowing the inauguration is tomorrow?
